About Our Encinitas, CA Swim School

With over 75 years of combined experience, Main Street Swim School provides exciting, results-driven swimming lessons for all ages and skill levels, from babies to adults. At our Encinitas, California location, students learn in small, engaging classes designed to help them build confidence and develop a love for the water. We believe swimming is a life-saving skill that all children should learn, and our warm, safe, and supportive environment allows them to feel comfortable while learning.

Our Encinitas swimming lessons focus on safety, passion, and results, taught by caring, skilled instructors who create a friendly, fun environment. We offer various classes to fit your family’s needs, including baby swimming lessons to introduce infants to the water, toddler swimming lessons that focus on early skill-building, and kids swimming lessons that help young swimmers develop foundational water skills. Each class has a maximum 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention. We also offer private lessons for those seeking one-on-one instruction.

Entering The Facility:

Located at inside LA Fitness, please enter the pool deck through the designated pool entrance and check in with a Main Street team member for class.

There is a designated area for parents to sit and observe lessons on the pool deck.

Facility Rules:

  • Please bring your own towel.
  • Eating or drinking on the pool deck or in changing rooms is not permitted.
  • Individuals over 5 years old must not enter locker rooms of the opposite sex, including parents and caregivers.
  • Changing tents are available on the pool deck for family changing.
  • Strollers are not allowed on the deck.
  • The on-deck shower is for rinsing only; and swimsuits must remain on

Little Fish

This class is for babies and young toddlers (between the age of 12 months-3 years) along with their caregiver, learning about their world through movement and experience. They become safer around water and grow up loving to swim.

Swim Tots

Swim Tots are 2-3 yrs old and a little unsure about this whole swim class thing. They're often anxious about getting in the water, especially when they see you're not in it with them!
Swim Basics

Swim Basics

Swim Basic students are gaining comfort in the water while learning breath control, glides and back floats. If your child doesn't love water, is just starting out or can't float on their own, start here.
Swim Kids

Swim Kids

Independent and confident, these kids are ready to learn real strokes (or the safety equivalent). If your child can float, swim on his own without any floaties, and is ready to learn the basics of moving his arms and legs at the same time, he's a Swim Kid.
Swimmers

Swimmers

These kids know how to swim safer and are ready to start turning in basics for full strokes. If your child can swim a basic safety crawl unassisted for 20ft, and is ready to learn to incorporate proper breathing into all strokes, choose Swimmers.
Swim Stars

Swim Stars

They're all about learning independent lap swimming. If your child can swim front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke about 50 feet (about one full lap), taking a breath when necessary, and is ready to build her endurance, choose Swim Star.
Swim Pros

Swim Pros

For kids who can swim freestyle, backstroke & body dolphin across the pool and they're ready for butterfly and flip turns. This class will teach additional technical & competitive elements to make them PreTeam ready!
